Soprano Sharin Apostolou is making a name for herself in repertoire that spans more than three hundred and fifty years. A frequent comedienne, she has been seen as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady (Ash Lawn Opera), Carrie Pipperidge in Carousel (The Glimmerglass Festival)Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance (Pensacola Opera), Yum Yum in The Mikado (Anchorage Opera), Valencienne in The Merry Widow (Utah Opera, Pensacola Opera), Adele in Die Fledermaus (Baltimore Concert Opera), Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring (Portland Opera), Adina in L’elisir d’amore (Opera Delaware, Baltimore Concert Opera, Green Mountain Opera Festival), Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Shreveport Opera, Wichita Grand Opera), Despina in Così fan tutte (Opera Ebony), Norina in Don Pasquale (Wichita Grand Opera), and as the secretary in King for a Day (The Glimmerglass Festival), for which the New York Times praised her as she “stole scene after scene with her whimsical expressions and flamboyant moves.”  Other career highlights include the title roles in Rodelinda and La Calisto  (both at Portland Opera); Belinda in Dido and Aeneas (Macao International Music Festival); Guenevere in Camelot (The Glimmerglass Festival); Nannetta in Falstaff (Utah Opera, Opera Delaware); Comtesse Adele in Le Comte Ory (Loft Opera); Le Feu, La Princesse, and Le Rossignol in L’enfant et les sortilèges and Almirena in Rinaldo (Portland Opera); Gilda in Rigoletto and Micaela in Carmen (Shreveport Opera); and The Soprano in the European Tour of Mitch Sebastian’s The Opera Show.
