Ash-Lawn Opera Festival

Our members and friends are vital to the Festival's success. Contributions to the Ash Lawn Opera Festival guarantee outstanding performances and help nurture young artists in all areas of the performing arts. Members have the opportunity to get involved through two volunteer groups - both offer exciting and fun ways to support the Festival!

Ash Lawn Opera is very grateful to its generous donors, in-kind contributors, and summer housing hosts.

Bravo! is a group of young professionals from the Charlottesville area dedicated to introducing the Festival to new audiences through special events and get-togethers. These fun events include the Bravo! Bites, a series of dinner and informal opera talks, invitations to dress rehearsals, and a pre-performance wine and cheese. Ash Lawn Opera relies heavily on its Guild, a group of committed volunteers who provide vital support for the Festival through fundraising, music and education programs, hospitality and office support. The Guild produces the Festival's two major fundraising events, Mid Winter Eve and Mid Summer Eve. The Education Committee of the Guild organizes the Artists-in-Residence, Opera Connects for Teachers and Summer KidsFest programs for area children. And throughout the year the Guild sponsors trips, luncheons, lectures and performances by professionals and Festival apprentices that enlighten and entertain both the seasoned music lover and the novice.
