Ash Lawn Opera Holds Local  Auditions!

Perform with the pros! The Ash Lawn Opera Festival will be holding local auditions for members of the community interested in being part of the company for the 2008 season. Auditions will be held on April 22, 23 and 24, 2008, from 4:00–5:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church. All ages are encouraged to audition; children and adults will be cast. This season will feature the return of two Festival favorites – Carmen, Georges Bizet's exotic tale of obsessive love, jealousy, and passion turned madness; and My Fair Lady, Lerner and Loewe's charming story of the man who attempts to make a genteel lady out of a flower girl and finds himself in love.

For My Fair Lady , singers must be available from June 13 - August 11. Performances are July 5, 6, 12, 13, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29, and 31, August 2, 6, 8, and 9. For Carmen , singers must be available from July 5 – August 12. Performances are July 19, 20, 23, 25, and 30, August 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10. During the rehearsal period, singers will be required to attend daytime rehearsals. All performances are in the evenings beginning at 8:00 pm.
