Ash Lawn Opera Welcomes Back Singers for 2008

We are excited to have many talented singers returning this season as both apprentices and principal singers.

My Fair Lady will bring back three former Ash Lawn performers. Katherine Altobello , whom audiences will remember as Liesl in last summer's Sound of Music , will play Eliza Doolittle. Peter Clark , who starred as Frank in our 2005 production of Annie Get Your Gun , returns to play Henry Higgins. Matthew Edwards , an alum of the Festival's apprentice program, will be performing as Colonel Pickering.

In Carmen, Melina Pineda returns to sing the passionate title role, after her role as Anita in the Festival's 2006 production of West Side Story . Two former apprentices will sing in Carmen as well: Megan Beltran and William Bennett . Megan will be singing the role of Frasquita and William the role of El Remendado.
