Ash Lawn Opera Guild

Hosts Annual MidWinter Eve

Come and join the festivities Friday, January 16 th at 6:30pm, at Ash Lawn Opera's annual MidWinter Eve, hosted by the Ash Lawn Opera Guild. We will be celebrating the 2009 season which will include Lerner and Loewe's legendary Camelot and Mozart's masterpiece Marriage of Figaro . MidWinter Eve promises to be an enchanting evening with a wine reception, cocktail buffet and a silent auction.

Entertainment will be provided by the renowned Charlottesville Swing Orchestra . They have been performing jazz, swing, and Latin-based music at the highest level for nearly twenty years. Featuring stunning vocals by Dawn Thompson and directed by acclaimed jazz trumpeter and arranger John D'earth, the swing orchestra is known for its elegance, excitement and authenticity. Whether you choose to just listen to these classics, or dance the night away, this will be a night to remember.

The silent auction offers a variety of choices such as a one night stay at the historic Frederick House in Staunton , one-of-a-kind works of art, interior design consultations, spa services, sporting events, music and theater performances, exquisite jewelry, restaurant certificates and many other exciting opportunities.

Tickets for MidWinter Eve are $135. For information or to donate an item for the silent auction, contact Amy Sofka at amyesofka@gmail.com or the Ash Lawn Opera office at (434)293-4500 or email info@ashlawnopera.org .
