Join author Rebecca Mead for a pre-performance lecture on March 24!

In partnership with the Virginia Festival of the BookRebecca Mead of the New Yorker will give a lecture before the March 24 performance of Middlemarch in Spring. Mead is author of the New York Times bestseller My Life in Middlemarch, a chronicle of the importance of George Eliot’s literary masterpiece on her life, an inspiration for the chamber opera Middlemarch in Spring by Allen Shearer and Claudia Stevens. Ash Lawn Opera will present the East Coast premiere of this new work on March 23 and 24 at The Paramount Theater. Ticketholders are invited to hear Mead speak before the matinee performance on the 24th and librettist Stevens before the evening performance on the 23rd.
