My Fair Lady, July 12 and 13, 8 pm

We had a great turnout for the opening weekend of My Fair Lady, even with the inclement weather, and we are looking forward to another pair of packed performances. Tickets are selling fast! We are about 75% sold out for Saturday and 50% sold out for Sunday so far.

Lecture--July 19 & 20

7:45 pm – Please enjoy a complimentary lecture by Judith Layng before the July 19 and 20 performances. Ms. Layng, a professor Emerita of Opera at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, will discuss the secrets and stories behind the music of Carmen .

 

Guild Potluck Picnic-- July 20

6:30 pm- The Festival Guild will be hosting a potluck picnic before the performance of Carmen on July 20 at 6.30 pm. To RVSP for the picnic, contact Debbie Scott at Djscott7@aol.com or 434.823.5111. Picnic-goers should make their own reservations to the performance.

 

ASH LAWN OPERA IN THE NEWS

 

The Festival is committed to providing an experience with opera and musical theatre for audiences all over the region. To help make that happen, each year Ash Lawn Opera singers visit Culpeper County Library to perform. This past Sunday, Philippe Pierce and Elizabeth Hartnett sang a 30-minute show and received a sparking review in the Star Exponent.. Click here to read A Day at the Opera .

ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Successful My Fair Lady Opening Night!!

Last weekend, even with the severe weather, the cast of My Fair Lady performed in front of a full house on opening night! The cast performed to a heartily laughing audience, along with a standing ovation on Sunday. Thanks to all who continue to make this production possible!

A special thanks to Frank and Jane Buck for once again hosting a spectacular My Fair Lady opening night party. The event was a great way to celebrate the opening night success and to mark the beginning of a surely wonderful run of performances!

 

Marvelous KidsFEST!

The KidsFEST event on July 3th was a sensation! The kids had a great time watching the full dress rehearsal of My Fair Lady . Thanks to all who continue to make this production possible and cannot wait for the second KidsFEST event!

 

Broadway Bound: A Blast!

Thanks to all who attended the first Music at Twilight event this season. On July 4 th , festival apprentices and principals performed from notable past and present Broadway shows, including Oklahoma! , West Side Story, Into the Woods, and South Pacific . Tickets for our next Music at Twilight event, Mozart & More , are selling fast!
